CAIRO-26 June 2021: Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane announced the team's starting line-up for the second leg of the CAF Champions League semis against Tunisia's Esperance.
Mosimane understandably sticks to the starting XI which performed so impressively in the team's 1-0 win in the first leg in Tunisia, only changing Salah Mohsen by Mohamed Magdy Afsha, who is now fit and ready to play the 90 minutes.
Al Ahly’s starting line-up for the game consists of: Mohamed El Shenawy, Akram Tawfik, Badr Benoun, Ayman Ashraf, Ali Maaloul, Amr El Soulia, Aliou Dieng, Hamdy Fathy , Mohamed Sherif, Afsha and Taher Mohamed Taher.
The Tunisians have suffered a 1-0 defeat at home in the first leg and they want to overcome their loss last week and secure a spot in the final.
"It will be a very open game because I expect the opponent to try to score and we play at home so we need to score. The result is what matters the most and not how we play. In the end, we want to go through.” Mosimane said in the pre-match press conference.
The Red Eagles want to secure their spot in the final and avoid the surprises of the Tunisians, who are famous for having better performances when they play away from home.
