Al Ahly surpass Sundowns, meet Tunisia's Esperance in CAF CL semi-final

CAIRO, 23 May 2021: Pitso Mosimane led Al-Ahly to the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League, eliminating his former team, Mamelodi Sundowns.
 
Al-Ahly tied 1-1 with their host Sundowns on Saturday, at Lucas Moribi Stadium in the second leg of the quarter-finals.
 
Al-Ahly had won the first leg in Egypt 2-0, to qualify by winning in the aggregate of the two matches, 3-1.
 
Yasser Ibrahim opened the game's goals in the 11th minute.
 
Moussa Libosa equalized in the 30th minute.
 
Thus, Al-Ahly will meet Tunisia's Esperance in the semi-finals mid-June.
 
This is the 17th qualification for the semi-finals in the history of Al-Ahly. 
 
The Reds are looking forward to claim the 10th African title in their history to extend African clubs leadership.
