REUTERS: Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has not spoken to Ryan Mason about his desire to leave the Premier League club and is fully focused on Wednesday's game against Aston Villa, the interim manager has said.
Sky Sports reported on Monday that Kane, who has a contract with the north London club until 2024, had told Spurs he wanted to leave and that Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea have been in touch with the player's representatives.
"No, not that I'm aware of," Mason told a news conference on Tuesday when asked if Kane wanted to leave Spurs. "All of my conversations with Harry have been about the game. I don't know.
"I speak to Harry pretty much every day. He's excited along with me about tomorrow. Our only discussions have been about the game tomorrow. We're looking forward to tomorrow."
Mason added that there was nothing unusual about speculation over the future of the world's top players.
Kane is in the running for the Premier League's Golden Boot award and is currently tied on 22 goals along with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah. The England captain has also assisted 13 more league goals for Spurs this season.
"I don't think anything is awkward," Mason added, while denying that Spurs' fans would give Kane a send-off against Villa, Tottenham's last home game of the season.
"There's always speculation around the best players, like there's been speculation around who the next manager will be. We've got a game at the weekend as well, so Harry is definitely going to be involved in them.
"Like I've said all along I can't speak about next season, whether that's a manager or a player. What I do know is that the fans will get behind us. We're looking forward to it."
Spurs, who are sixth in the standings on 59 points, end their season with a trip to Leicester City on Sunday.
Mason has a few injury concerns ahead of the Villa match, with defender Ben Davies ruled out and the manager unsure if Gareth Bale will be fit to feature so soon after playing in Sunday's 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
