File- Al Ahly will face Al Ittihad in the semi-finals
CAIRO-22 April 2021: The line-up for the Egyptian basketball league's semi-finals is now complete with Al Ahly set to face title holders, Al Ittihad of Alexandria, while Zamalek will face Gezira.
The quarter-finals are best-of-five series and each team needs to win three games to progress to the next round.
Al Ittihad, who finished the regular season atop of the table, and Gezira, who finished in the third place, booked their places in the semi-finals after Game 3 while Al Ahly and Zamalek waited till Game 4.
Al Ittihad won the series over El Geish 3-0 while Gezira reached the semi-finals after defeating Smouha 3 games to 0.
On the other hand, Al Ahly bounced back after losing the first game in the series at home to Alexandria Sporting Club (ASC), winning the next three games to reach the semi-finals.
Zamalek were leading the series over Telecom Egypt SC 2-0 but they lost Game 3 on Tuesday night and were pushed to game 4, which ended with a comfortable win for the White Knights.
