CAIRO-17 April 2021: Al Ahly's starting goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy tested positive for COVID-19 and he is out of the Cairo Derby against Zamalek on Sunday night.

Al Ahly will count on their back-up goalkeeper Ali Lotfy,  who will appear in the derby for the first time in his career.

Injuries hit Al Ahly ahead of the important game as six players from the team that started the game against Zamalek in the 2020 CAF Champions League final are ruled out of the game due to injuries.

In addition to El Shenawy, Al Ahly will also miss Junior Ajayi, Hamdy Fathy, Yasser Ibrahim, Mohamed Hany and Ali Maaloul, while Ayman Ashraf and Walid Soliman are in doubt.

All eyes will be set on Cairo International Stadium, where the Cairo giants, Al Ahly and Zamalek, will face off in a game postponed from the fourth week of the Egyptian League.

The two teams will meet for the first time since the 2020 CAF Champions League final, when Al Ahly defeated Zamalek 2-1 to secure the 9th CAF Champions League title in the club's history.

Zamalek lead the league table with 33 points after 14 games and they are six points ahead of Al Ahly, who played only 11 matches.
