Al Ahly announce squad for Al Merrikh SC’s game

CAIRO – 3 April 2021: Al Ahly will attack Al Merrikh SC at Al Hilal Stadium in Sudan with four players as Al Ahly’s head coach Pitso Mosimane will count on Mohamed Sherif, Marwan Mohsen, Junior Ajayi and Mohamed Magdy Afsha.

This is the same attacking line of Al Ahly’s last game in the competition against DR Congo’s AS Vita Club away from home, which ended with a 3-0 win for the Red Devils.

Al Ahly’s starting line-up for the game consists of: Mohamed El Shenawy, Mohamed Hany, Badr Benoun, Ayman Asharf, Yasser Ibrahim, Aliou Dieng, Amr El Soulia, Afsha, Ajayi, SHerif and Marwan.

“Both teams will fight for the three points. We want to win the game and take a step towards reaching the next round as group leaders if we managed to defeat Simba SC at home in the last round.” Mosimane said in the pre-match press conference.

Al Ahly are second in the group, three points behind Simba SC, and the two teams will face off in the last game of the group stage.

Al Ahly hope to get the three points to secure their qualification to the quarter-finals in their journey to defend the African title.

The game starts on 3:00 pm.
