CAIRO – 21 January 2021: Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal lays the foundation stone for the largest observation wheel in Africa “Ain Cairo” or “Cairo Eye,” which will be established in Zamalek.

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled Anani was attending Thursday’s first steps towards establishing “Ain Cairo,” which will be located in the Obelish Park near El-Andalous Park.

“Ain Cairo” will be the first recreational and touristic wheel in Cairo, and the largest of its kind in Africa, where it will be built at a height of 120 meters. The project is scheduled to be launched in 2022, which be a global project, and a landmark for modern Cairo, in line with the strategic development plan and Egypt’s vision 2030.

The to-be-established amusement ride, Ain Cairo, is observed to be a boom in the tourism entertainment sector, given it is the largest global tourism project in Egypt, similar to its counterparts in major capitals and countries.

The multi-passenger ride wheel, which rotates upright, will allow a unique panoramic view of Cairo, attracting millions of visitors annually and hundreds of thousands of tourists, which is considered a great investment in the sector.

Ain Cairo is considered the largest in Africa, and the fifth largest wheel around the world after London, Dubai, Las Vegas and Singapore.
