CAIRO – 2 July 2017: Facebook is launching a new global Wi-Fi feature. The feature lets business promote their free Wi-Fi to visitors; in return Facebook will promote those businesses.
According to Metro, this feature will be released worldwide on both iOS and Android platforms.
This will allow you to find the nearest spot with free internet access if your data allowance is low.
The feature is found under the “more” tab in the Facebook mobile application. Once you locate the “find Wi-Fi” tab, Facebook will notify you that you need to turn it on. Then Facebook will present a map to display the closest hotspot, as well as the details about the bushiness that provides it.
As mentioned in Tech Crunch, Facebook has around 2 billion monthly users that are connected and use the application. This new feature might increase the number of Facebook users.
