Dahab beach clean-up event

CAIRO – 1 July 2017: In solidarity with International Plastic Bag Free Day on July 3, diving centers in Dahab are initiating a huge post-Eid community beach clean-up, inviting all Dahab residents and the larger community to volunteer in the event.

International Plastic Bag Free Day is a global initiative that aims to eliminate the use of single-use plastic bags worldwide. Currently in its eighth year, citizens worldwide help raising awareness of the dangers of plastic bag use and offer healthy alternatives.

The volunteers in Dahab are scheduled to meet at their centers at 4 p.m. or at Laguna at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 3.

The organizers are hoping to make this a regular event to clean other areas in Dahab, too.
