CAIRO - 5 June 2020: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli inspected the final stage of Tahrir Square's lighting system project on Thursday evening.
In his inspection tour, Madbouli checked the latest renovation works in terms of turning the iconic square as a tourist destination with Pharaonic designs, as a Pharaonic obelisk was installed and surrounded by four ram-headed sphinxes.
Earlier in the year, Misr Company for Sound and Light, affiliated to the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels of the Ministry of Public Business Sector, has started the implementation of the Tahrir Square lighting project, within the framework of its development plan, which is being implemented by a number of government agencies.
This comes in the framework of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to develop Khedive Cairo, and the Prime Minister orders to develop a vision for the development and revitalization of Tahrir Square, which is the most famous square in Egypt to appear at its best, to be a shrine within the archaeological and tourist sites.
