CAIRO, April 26 (MENA) - Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled el Anani followed up on Sunday preparations for the inauguration ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) in 2021.
Anany discussed with officials of the company, tasked with the GEM promotional campaign, many ideas and suggestions about the campaign's plan.
The minister also held a meeting with representatives of the company tasked with transporting royal mummies from the Egyptian Museum at Tahrir Square to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC).
The meeting tackled measures set to be taken to organize the majestic parade.
The Egyptian Museum hosts 150 mummies for acclaimed ancient Egyptian kings but only 22 royal mummies representing the 17th, 18th, and 19th Dynasties of ancient Egypt will be transported to NMEC, including 18 mummies of kings and four queens.
The mummies include those of kings: Thutmose I, Thutmose II, Thutmose III, Seti I, Ramesses II, Ramesses III, Ramesses IV, Ramesses V, Seqnenre, Merenptah, while the queens are Hatshepsut, Meritamun, the wife of King Amenhotep I, and Ahmose Nefertari, the wife of king Ahmose
