CAIRO – 2 March 2020: Airlines in the Middle East have lost an estimated $100 million due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, according to a statement released by the International Air Transport Association (ITAT) on Monday.
The statement said that the Aviation Association called on governments to help the airlines in this crisis, adding that ticket sales are expected to witness a decrease in the Middle East region over the coming weeks.
The statement also pointed out that revenues will face a danger if restrictions on aviation continue in Asia, adding that global airlines are expected to lose $ 1.5 billion in 2020.
