EgyptAir sets prices for upcoming Umrah flights - Press photo
CAIRO – 16 February 2020: Iberia Spanish Airlines announced Friday the resumption of its flights to Luxor, starting April 2020, after a 12-year hiatus.
Chairman of the Cultural Tourism Marketing Committee in Luxor, Mohamed Othman, said in a statement that Luxor Airport will receive four Spanish flights a week starting April.
Egyptian flag carrier EgyptAir also announced earlier operating direct flights between South Sinai’s Sharm El-Sheikh, known for its magnificent natural landscapes, and Upper Egypt’s Luxor, which houses numerous ancient monuments.
In an interview with Egypt Today, Othman said EgyptAir will operate these direct weekly flights every Thursday, fromFebruary 20 until May 28.
"The comfortable Airbus A220-300 planes will be used for these three months," Othman said, adding that clients would be able to book their tickets through the electronic website or by calling 1717.
Tourism Minister Khaled al-Anani announced earlier in February launching several mechanisms to serve the tourism sector, most prominently operating new flights to connect Luxor with Red Sea’s Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh at the end of February.
