CAIRO - 10 February 2020: The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is working to take advantage of the digital transformation for tourism promotion as it will launch several applications to serve cultural tourism in Egypt and facilitate booking tickets for sites and museums.
The plan of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities includes a number of steps:
1- Using the digital transformation to collect the revenues of the ministry, which enables the electronic reservation for museums and archaeological sites tickets, facilitating the reservation process and reducing waiting queues at the ticket counter at museums and archeological sites.
2- Archaeological and touristic copies of books will be sold through these modern applications.
3- Developing tourism services in archeological sites in Luxor and implementing the visual identity project in Luxor and Karnak temples.
4- Opening a sub-port for Hurghada Archeology Museum in the Red Sea Governorate, to be opened inthe coming weeks, to facilitate the process of purchasing tickets for tourism companies.
5- Updating the website of the ministry to make it more attractive and to promote all tourist destinations in Egypt.
6 - Increasing the number of archaeological and coastal sites that the browser can visit by default on the website.
7- Using modern technology to promote Egypt's tourism in international tourism and forums and exhibitions, such as using hologramand augmented reality screens to display the Egyptian touristicproduct in a different and more attractive way.
8 - Developing all services provided to tourists, especially telecommunication services.
