A favorite with kids and grownups alike. You can substitute Twix with Snickers or Mars if you’d prefer.
Ingredients (Takes 25 minutes to make)
3/4 cup cocoa
1/2 tsp baking soda
2/3 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup boiling water
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup flour
1 tsp vanilla extract
Healthy pinch salt
1 cup chopped Twix fingers plus another ½ cup for topping
1. Heat oven to 180°C.
2. In a large bowl mix cocoa, baking soda and 1/3 cup butter. Pour in boiling water, stirring until mixture thickens. Fold in sugar, eggs and remaining 1/3 cup butter. Beat until smooth. Mix in flour, vanilla and salt. Add 1 cup Twix chunks and pour mixture into a greased 43x27cm baking tray. Top with remaining chocolate chunks.
3. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan and caramel in the chocolate rises slightly to the surface. Cool completely in pan before slicing into squares.
