Tourism Ministry to be transferred to NAC in June

CAIRO - 26 January 2020: An official source from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities told Egypt Today on Sunday that the ministry's offices will be transferred to the New Administrative Capital (NAC) by June 2020.

The source added that the ministry has a small number of employees, offices and departments compared to other ministries, so the transfer will not take a long time.

Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli issued a decision to allocate housing units for the ministries' senior employees.

It is worth mentioning that the monorail of the New Administrative Capital includes 21 stations: Stadium - Hisham Barakat - Nuri Khattab - Seventh district - Zakir Hussein - Free Zone - Marshal Tantawi - Cairo Festival - Choueifat - Emaar – Al-Nafoura Square – Al-Barwa - Middle Ring Road - Mohammed bin Zayed - Regional Ring - Almasa Hotel - Ministries Quarter - Administrative Capital.

The monorail of Sixth of October City includes 12 stations and will serve the major expansions of the city, especially social housing projects.

NAC includes an information center that meets the ministries' needs to carry out digital transformation; the Egyptian government is seeking to make the NAC a center of digitization through the use of the latest technological applications.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has laid the first stone of the New Administrative Capital in East Cairo on July, 14. With an area of 170,000 feddans, the new capital will include 20 residential areas expected to accommodate 6.5 million people and a road network of 650 km in length. The capital will include an international airport and an electric train to link it with the 10th of Ramadan and El-Salam cities.

It will feature 1,250 mosques and churches, a 5,000-seat conference center, nearly 2,000 schools and colleges, over 600 medical facilities, and a park that is projected to be the world’s largest.

The New Administrative Capital is located in the area between the Cairo-Suez and Cairo-Ain Sokhna roads, east of the regional ring road. This is roughly 60km from the cities of Suez and Ain Sokhna.
