CAIRO - 11 January 2020: The first Fly Baghdad flight to Cairo International Airport (CIA) arrived on Saturday taking off from Al Najaf International Airport.

The airline’s Chairman Beshir al-Shabny stated in the ceremony held in CIA to celebrate the launching of the flight that at present only one flight takes place weekly; however, the number will be two and four next month and next Summer, respectively. That is in addition to operating a flight to Sharm El Sheikh International Airport.

The chairman said that the airline operates flights to 15 destinations, and that a new flight has been launched between Baghdad International Airport and Bahrain International Airport taking place twice a week. In February, two flights to Pakistan and India will be launched.

Shabny added that the airline’s fleet consists of four Boeing 737 planes including a leased aircraft. Shabny elaborated that the airline plans to eliminate leasing and that negotiations are underway to purchase a Boeing 737 by June.

Fly Baghdad is a private Iraqi airline headquartered in Baghdad, and was founded in 2014 using “Low Price, More Flights” as a motto.
