CAIRO - 26 December 2019: The Central Administration of Giza Zoo at General Authority for Veterinary Services affiliated with Ministry of Agriculture announced, on Thursday the state of emergency due to the bad and cold weather aiming to protect the animals.
It was added in an official statement that the administration will be implementing number of precautionary measures to avoid any of the damages or diseases that may affect animals due to the weather and lead to their death.
These measures include providing the animals with more processed food, sugar and fodder with high protein value that helps with heating.
Veterinary specialized teams will be ready to monitor the Giza Zoo animals and birds all the time and provide them white honey, fruit and hot drinks, according to the statement.
The hot drinks will include tea, fenugreek and Balila which is a (popular Egyptian dish made of wheat and milk).
In addition, Vitamins, blankets, honey and fish will be given to the bears. For the monkeys; were announced to be provided with Peanuts, dates, boiled eggs, apples, bananas, and guava.
