Artis is never short of inspiration, often finding it in the most unlikely places - Edgar Artis's official Instagram
CAIRO – 21 August 2019: Armenian illustrator Edgar Artis has skillfully proved that art can be mixed with real life, he just does not only uses oil paint or pencils, he also uses food and objects to create art.
From an asymmetric banana skin dress, to a frock made from elements of an entire cheeseburger, Artis is never short of inspiration, often finding it in the most unlikely places, according to My Modern Met.
In addition to sharing his art, the artist also aims to spread positive messages to his 700,000+
followers.
In one particular piece titled
Transformation, Artis uses inside-out lychee skin to create an elegant poncho. He was prompted to produce his unexpected illustration after becoming “really tired of princess dresses.”
He explains, “I am tired of seeing people who think princess stuff is beauty and perfection. I created a contemporary design, which hides a beautiful message behind.
“It reminds me of a caterpillar who is about to transform into a beautiful butterfly and fly… Here is my advice, don’t ever ever be shy or afraid, open your beautiful world and show them who you are!”
