CAIRO – 22 July 2019: Up to ten EgyptAir flights are scheduled to head to Saudi Arabia’s holy city Mecca on Monday, transporting 2439 pilgrims to do the Hajj rituals.
Eight air flights are scheduled to takeoff from Cairo international airport, and two other will be departing from Borg El Arab International Airport.
On July 20, Al-Azhar's Islamic Research Academy (AIRA) has deployed its awareness convoys at the state airports and seaports to brief pilgrims on Hajj rituals before heading to Saudi Arabia's holy city Mecca.
The first convoy started their work at various buildings in Cairo International Airport, AIRA chief Nazeer Mohammed Ayyad said in a statement on Saturday.
Other convoys have been deployed to Borg El Arab International Airport, Hurghada Airport, Luxor Airport and Safaga Airport, Ayyad added.
The convoys will be available for pilgrims' assistance around the clock, he noted.
