CAIRO – 11 June 2017: As the Gulf state of Qatar’s airspaces now faces a complete blockade; a passenger, named Alex Macheras, who was on board on a Doha-bound flight recounted to thepointsguy how the neighboring states’ diplomatic decision to cut off ties with Qatar has its adverse effects on its Airways.

“The main deck being empty and a very light load on the upper deck as well,” Macheras said in deception of the flight he was on board.

Staff working on the site of Doha’s international airport, which he described “deserted” that “you could hear a pin drop,” were seemingly frustrated that he could feel that the small talks he held with them were heavy-going.

Inside the airport, Macheras said that he spotted that security machines stopped working; security officials switched them on only when they spotted him.

The English passenger went on further to describe how the airport lavish cafes and restaurants were thoroughly empty, except for two people he spotted eating at one of the restaurants.

The flights display screens showed that flights for Dubai, Medina and Jeddah were cancelled, he said.

“I picked up a local English-language newspaper, The Peninsula, and naturally, the front page spoke of potential resolution talks between the Qatari Emir and the Kuwaiti Emir,” he concluded.
