CAIRO – 7 June 2019: Egypt is embarking on a mega project to establish the biggest medical tourism city in the Middle East and Africa region with more than LE20 billion investments, Eng. Ammar Mandour, head of the Badr City Development Authority, said on Friday.
Mandour furhter clarified that 90% of the project investments are Egyptian and that the preliminary inspection of the project site was conducted.
The medical city will provide the latest medical services and state-of-the-art medical equipment and devices.
He further added that the city will include 13 medical institutes with a capacity of 2,000 beds, a medical helipad, an education hospital, and a medicinal plantation.
The project, according to Mandour, is considered a megal national project that will create many job opportunities.
Directives were given to all concerned authorities to coordinate and cooperate for the facilitation of the project.
Meawhile, general-secretary of the Badr University and medical city Dr. Mohamed Suliman said 10% of the total capacity of beds will be dedicated to the unfortunate, pointing out that the project aims at providing the best medical services for Egyptians and foriegners.
Dr. Suliman also added that the project will be established on around 109 acres and will start providing services after 30 months of implementation, pointing out that it is determined that the project will be done within five years of execution.
