Egypt’s longest Ramadan Iftar table to be held Saturday

CAIRO – 31 May 2019: Egypt’s longest Ramadan Iftar table in the world will be held on Saturday in the new Administrative Capital with 7,000 attendants, said the Administrative Capital Company for Urban Development in a statement.

The 3,000-meter-long table is about to enter Guinness World Records. Guinness representatives will attend the Iftar, the statement added.

The participants will have a tour of the most vital and significant constructions in the Administrative Capital. After having Iftar they will enjoy a distinctive Ramadan night where a set of shows and oriental music and songs to be played, said spokesperson of the company Khaled El- Hosseini.

“I promise to organize a prestigious event fits Egypt’s position, in the presence of all successful partners of Administrative Capital’s investors and developers, who do their utmost to build such incomparable city, amid massive coverage of media and press agencies to spot national and international light on the city,” El Hosseini added.
The New Administrative Capital is located in the area between the Cairo-Suez and Cairo-Ain Sokhna roads, east of the regional ring road. This is roughly 60km from the cities of Suez and Ain Sokhna.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has laid the first stone of the New Administrative Capital in East Cairo on July, 14, 2018. With an area of 170,000 feddans, the new capital will include 20 residential areas expected to accommodate 6.5 million people and a road network of 650 km in length. The capital will include an international airport and an electric train to link it with the 10th of Ramadan and El-Salam cities.

It will feature 1,250 mosques and churches, a 5,000-seat conference center, nearly 2,000 schools and colleges, over 600 medical facilities, and a park that is projected to be the world’s largest.
