In 2000, the United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recognized Sharm El-Sheikh as the finest city in the world for peace and beauty.

This city witnessed many international conferences, forums and meetings, after the signing of the Camp David Peace treaty between Egypt and Israel. Therefore, Egypt chose Sharm El-Sheikh to host all Egypt’s political and economic events to support peace and stability in the region.
