Hurghada airport receives first Munich direct flights

CAIRO - 1 November 2018: Hurghada International Airport received its first Munich direct flight Thursday with 200 tourists on board.

The plane was received with a water salute, and the passengers were greeted with flowers by officials at the airport.

The flights will arrive on weekly basis, and another direct line to Marsa Alam will begin Friday.

Meanwhile, Thomas Cook’s trips to Egypt have increased by 40 percent year-on-year, with Marsa Alam and Hurghada the top destinations, the company’s undersecretary Hossam al-Shaer said Tuesday.
