Under the slogan “We’re all beside you” the session kicked off with a welcoming interaction from the attending mothers inquiring about family health issues to improve their lifestyle with their children. Dr. Yasmin Gamal stressed how breastfeeding is crucial for the life of the child as it protects them from immune diseases and facilitates their growth in a healthy manner. Dr. Gamal added that breast milk is one of the richest sources of nutrients that contribute to strengthening the child's immunity and growth, both physically and mentally, and breast-feeding contributes to strengthening the link between mother and child and preparing the baby for the outside world. She pointed to the need to care for women, whether pregnant or lactating, and their physical health through eating nutritional meals because the health of the child is significantly affected by mothers.

Business Executive Manager of Infant Nutrition, Nestlé North East Africa, and Waleed Al Bahaey stated the importance of nutritional education in Egypt stating, “Nestlé’s nutritional vision is to assist the next generation to live healthier lives by offering clinically advanced, scientifically proven nutrition in the 1st 1,000 days.

This comes to life through ongoing successful initiatives that focus on the health of our children who are the backbone of the future, that comes in line with the vision of Egypt 2030, and we are working on more cooperation with the Ministry of Health and all concerned bodies to be able to support the development of the health and nutrition sector in Egypt.”

Nestlé developed a dedicated program that educates 500 nurses at a number of Egyptian hospitals who can assist mothers in providing better nutrition through breastfeeding systems that benefit the mother and the baby. In addition, Start Healthy, Stay healthy website http://starthealthy.nestle.com.eg, is providing the mother with the knowledge, information and advice necessary to help her feed her child in the right healthy way.
