Erken app works to solve Cairo’s parking dilemma

CAIRO – 18 April 2017: All Egyptians have experienced the feeling of finally arriving home after being stuck for hours in traffic only to find there are no empty parking spots around. Luckily, a new parking app called ‘Erken,’ ‘Park,’ may make arriving home much easier.

The recently-launched app was created by two young Egyptian entrepreneurs, Ibrahim Farouk and Ahmed Diaa, who wanted to save Egyptians the burden of finding an empty parking spot. The app works mainly via its users notifying one another about the nearest empty parking spots and available garages.

Erken users also have the option of notifying others about parking spots they just left, which will appear in the app for 15 minutes after they list it. Users will also be able to rate or report the services of garages available on the app for safety concerns.
