Greek Deputy FM asserts Egypt’s safety, visit pyramids

CAIRO – 5 January 2018: Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Terence Nicholas Quick asserted Friday that “Egypt is safe” and called on Egyptians to preserve their heritage.

The remarks were made on the sidelines of his visit to the pyramids of Egypt, which was a part of a program to promote Egypt’s tourism landmarks.

He also took a photo in front of Tutankhamen’s mask, saying that he is “very happy” to see this mask which reflects a lot of Egyptian civilization and called all countries to visit Egypt.

Quick stated that the Greek Minister of Tourism will pay a visit to Egypt to sign a cooperation agreement with Egypt and Cyprus.

Quick is accompanied by Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram in his tour. He has a plan to meet with a number of Egyptian officials to discuss boosting Greek tourism in Egypt.

Earlier, Egypt, Cyprus and Greece signed cooperation agreements in the tourism field, in the presence of Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, his Cypriot counterpart Nicos Anastasiades and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

This came on the sideline of the fifth summit of the tripartite meetings between all three leaders within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanisms which were launched in Cairo in November 2017.
