CAIRO – 28 December 2017: Miss Greece 2017, María Psilou, said goodbye to Egypt as her tour ends. María Psilou was at Cairo international airport a few hours ago to prepare for departure after a five-day visit in Cairo. Her visit started on December 23, 2017.
Upon Miss Greece’s arrival to Cairo, Miss Egypt, Farah Shabban, and her family hosted Psilou in their home. They fed her Egyptian meals and celebrated her visit with Egyptian Folklore songs that filled her soul with the warm, familiar atmosphere of the Egyptian family.
Psilou visited the Pyramids of the Giza, in the company of Miss Egypt and the Head of Egypt’s Internal Tourism Sector, Adel El Masry. She captured many photographs beside Khufu Pyramid and was surprised by its architectural structure. She entered Khufu Pyramid to learn more about Pharao’s mysterious history and Egyptian civilization. She also visited the Egyptian museum.
Miss Greece’s 2017 visit was organized by the General Authority for Tourism Development in cooperation with the Manager of the Miss Egypt Pageant, Dr. Amal Rizk, as a celebration of World Tourism day. The celebration is considered to be a great opportunity to support and encourage tourism in Egypt.
María Psilou’s visit reflects a growing positive international attitude toward Egypt, which ushers in a new growth progress in the tourism sector for the upcoming months.
