CAIRO – 4 April 2017: The Egyptian Travel Agents Association stressed on the importance for travel agents to abide by the American and British ban on electronics on planes bound for the U.S. and Britain, in a statement
Monday.
Last month, the U.S. and Britain imposed an electronic ban on flights coming from several Middle Eastern and North African airports.
The ban will prohibit passengers from carrying electronic items bigger than a cell phone in their cabin baggage. Larger devices such as tablets, e-readers and laptops must be placed in checked baggage.
Both states cited a terrorist threat to smuggle explosive devices inside electronic gadgets as the reason for the ban.
The ban affects 14 airports and nine airlines.
