CAIRO – 19 December 2017: Belgian network Broximal Media revealed on Wednesday that Belgium’s travel agencies recorded a 50-percent increase in flight bookings to Egypt since the last summer.

The network has confirmed that Red Sea coastal cities like Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh are once again the most popular destinations for Belgian tourists after years of depression as a result of terror attacks in the region.

According to Broximal Media statistics, around a third of Belgians spent their holidays in Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada which resulted in a substantial increase in Belgian tourism in Egypt.

Egypt is considered by Belgian tourists as the second most popular travel destination due to its geographical location, natural sunny weather, historical sites like Giza Pyramids and the high quality of hotels and resorts.

United Nation World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) released a report stating that Egypt is one of the countries that achieved a remarkable revival in tourism with around 8 million tourists visiting Egypt by the end of 2017.
