CAIRO – 10 December 2017: Boeing’s (B737-800) Next Generation airliner arrived at Cairo International Airport, finalizing Boeing's deal with EgyptAir Holding Company for nine B737 aircrafts.

"The new B737 will make its first flight this week," EgyptAir Airlines Chairman and CEO Sherif Ezzat said, adding that the airliner will be deployed on international routes, especially Europe and the Gulf.

EgyptAir Holding Company Chairman Safwat Musallam said that Boeing and EgyptAir have cooperated for 50 years, since 1966, when a Boeing’s (B707-320C) airliner joined the holding company.

EgyptAir signed an agreement with Boeing in 2016 for the purchase of nine (B737-800) airliners at a cost of $864 million. The B737 is manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) in Renton, Washington with a capacity of maximum 210 passengers.
