CAIRO – 18 November 2017: Last year Gigi Hadid lent a helping hand to Stuart Weitzman in order to create the ‘Gigi Boot’ that helped fund the development of schools in developing countries in a partnership with Pencils of Promise (PoP).
The ‘Gigi Boot’ of course was a huge success that raised enough funds to build schools and has impacted the lives of 1,595 young students by providing them with daily education to empower them for the future. As we all know, the pen is mightier than the sword and education is the main solution to reducing poverty.
Stuart Weitzman and the PoP partnership first began back in the Spring of 2016, when the exclusive ‘Yellow Show’ campaign was created. After the rewarding results of the campaign, Weitzman reached out to shoe lover and super model Gigi Hadid and then the ‘Gigi Boot’ was born in October 2016. Now come fall 2017 and Gigi is back with the limited edition ‘The Eyelove’ and ‘The Eyelovemore’ mules.
Pencils of Promise (PoP) is a non-profit organization that ‘builds schools and provides quality education promising to increase literacy rates in Ghana, Guatemala, Laos and Nicaragua.’ All while offering teachers support by providing them with training that assists them effectively in teaching their students, and building schools where students can go for a safe learning environment. They also establish water and health programs and teach kids about water hygiene and sanitation so they can live full healthy lives.
