Grace Kelly lived the true Cinderella fairy tale as she went from being a Hollywood starlet to being the Princess of Monaco after marrying Prince Rainer III on April 1956.
She started her acting career at the age of 20 on the stage in New York City and appeared in more than 40 episodes of live television dramas during the Golden Age of Television. Later, she won an Academy Award for her role in “The Country Girl” (1954). She also stared in the film “High Society” alongside Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby in 1956. She was one of Alfred Hitchcock’s favorite blond actresses, and she stared in three of his films; “Rear Window” (1954), “Dial M for Murder” (1954), and “To Catch a Thief” (1955).
She gave up her acting career at the age of 26 to become the Princess of Monaco, the wedding was broadcast on television and watched by an estimate of 30 million people.
