CAIRO – 7 November 2017: Ikea has collaborated with UNICEF, Handicap International, Save the Children, Special Olympics, Room to Read and War Child to launch the "Good Cause Campaign."

The campaign's theme is “Let's play for Change” which was created in order to raise awareness about children’s mere human right to play.

A variety of different activities will be taking place at Ikea including the annual global "Drawing Competition" and a workshop on "Children’s Right to Play" until December 20.

The drawing competition will begin on November 16 and children are invited to join in to create their favorite imaginary characters. Winners will have their characters come to life as soft toys that will be sold at Ikea stores all around the world.

The previous year saw the first Egyptian to make it among the top 10 winners, and she had her drawing of a yellow bird remade and sold at all of the Ikea stores in the world.

Adosh Sharma, IKEA Egypt country manager, said in a press release: “At IKEA, we want to activate ‘Good Cause Campaigns’ to show the benefits of play for all; both children and adults and to inspire them to have a playful everyday life. We want to inform, engage, mobilize and empower people to participate in the campaign and understand the importance of play.”
