CAIRO – 9 October 2017: Raha Moharrak, a 31 year-old Saudi woman who climbed Mount Everest, is officially the first Saudi woman and the youngest Arab to do so.

Moharrak has a visual communications degree from the American University of Sharjah, and a Master's in freelance graphic designing.

Her first climbing experience was Kilimanjaro. While climbing Kilimanjaro nearly killed her; Moharrak did not stop herself from pushing to climb more and bigger mountains, completing her climb up Everest afterwards on May 18, 2013.

Curious, adventurous, and perseverant; Moharrak never seems to give up, even in the face of adversities that could likely kill her.

When she was climbing Everest, she passed by a dead woman, and she feared that she would end up the same way, and become a cause to her parents' suffering. But even those consequences did not stop her from climbing up to her dream.

Moharrak said to Harper’s Bazaar Arabia; “I have learned a lot of things over the years. First: there is no shame in failure. There is no shame in failing. A lot of people do not even start trying something new because they are too afraid to fail, and that is where the problem is. The fact is that your failure means that you are trying something new.”

Moharrak is not only an adventurous graphic designer; she is also an aspiring author.

In September, she even became the brand ambassador for Swiss watch brand, Tag Heuer, as mentioned in Harper’s Bazaar Arabia.
