The Ministry of Endowments inaugurated in the now-famous mosque in March 2017 in the Old Market area of Sharm El-Sheikh. It has since become an important tourist center.

The mosque is 35-meter high and can host around 3,000 worshipers. It also sits on a vast piece of land with a large fountain in the front. The mosque has two minarets that are 70-meter high.

El-Sahaba Mosque is under the supervision of the Ministry of Endowments and the Islamic Research Academy of Al-Azhar.
