Kojak spring/summer 2018 collection - Kojak
Cairo – 05 October 2017: Egyptian-born and Project Runway Middle East alumni Mohand Kojak will be taking on the Dubai runway at the 10th season of Fashion Forward Dubai.
is known for his sense of taste and bold fashion. He has dressed many Egyptian Celebrities such as Nahed al-Sebai, Dorra, Hana Shiha and many more.
His spring collection is inspired by the opulence and rich designs of rococo architecture; Kojak takes us into a time machine when mortals created heaven on earth through art. Kojak’s style defines an era of beauty that is missed in the modern age. Hence, through his designs, he expresses love and harmony with delicate finesse combined with modern beauty.
The collection featured soft silhouettes that are typical of the era and elaborate embroidery; this ready-to-wear collection is Kojak’s first attempt to create shirts. The recurring theme in the Spring/Summer 2017 collection is the use of angles, with his shirts featuring exaggerated sleeves that are inspired by angel wings and the over-the-top style and embellishments of the time. Canvas- work stitches are also integrated into the collection.
Moreover, Kojak drew some inspiration in the Spring/Summer trend such as ruffled shirts, dresses and pants, and to give the collection an edge he added the white, cotton T-shirts with angel or rococo style portraits printed on them.
This unique collection has been put together by the use of shimmery fabrics combined with handmade embroidery and customized appliqués, rather than patterns. Satin and tulle were the main players, with a twist of modern opulence that comes in a softer, breezier manner suiting the Spring and Summer seasons.
