CAIRO - 3 October 2017: Mohamed Ramadan posted his photo on his Instagram account with his private plane in the background after landing in Sharm el-Sheikh.
Success is a double-edged weapon; it could be the way to gain people’s hearts on one hand, and to have countless numbers of enemies on the other. Let alone success plus fortune; it could make an idol out of you. You would grow the hope for dreamers that their aspirations may come true one day or a subject of controversy for others who may see you as an upstart or a nouveau riche. There is always a thin layer between being an influencer and being showy.
The Egyptian star Mohamed Ramadan has always dazzled the eyes and ears of his audience with memorable updates about his life and his striking appearance. Amongst conflicting reactions, Ramadan posted his photo with his new private plane bearing his initials MR in the background on his Instagram account.
"My first trip to Saint Catherine Airport; Egypt is the land of magic," commented Ramadan on his posted picture, unaware of the countless number of reactions which will follow and mention the pros and cons.
The crowds’ varied reactions ranged between a proponent and opponent. A sizable number of Ramadan fans expressed their admiration and wished him further success. Meanwhile, others considered Ramadan’s post and picture as inappropriate and forced Egyptians to bear grudges and be envious with his continual attempt to show off his fortune.
"You live in a country that suffers from economic conditions and people can hardly afford their living, and you show off your expensive car, yacht and plane; you bluntly tell people to have an evil eye on you; you should be thoughtful of the poor and relate to their low life standard and make a charity project instead of showing off your wealth," was the first comment from one of Ramadan’s followers criticizing his showy attitude.
Ramadan was earlier slammed for bragging about his Lamborghini and Rolls Royce on Instagram, which contradicts his beginning as an Egyptian actor who made his name and fortune by playing the downtrodden, working class, salt-of-the-earth guy who gets corrupted by the circumstances.
