Celebrations to be held nationwide to mark World Tourism Day

CAIRO - 28 September 2017: Head of the Egyptian Tourist Authority (ETA), Hisham el-Demeiry said Wednesday the Ministry of Tourism will participate in a number of events nationwide as part of the World Tourism Day (WTD) celebrations.

Demeiry said public figures from a number of countries would be invited to attend celebrations that coincide with the 200 anniversary of Abu Simbel temple discovery.

This year’s World Tourism Day, held on 27 September, focuses on Sustainable Tourism – a Tool for Development.

It is celebrated in line with the 2017 International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development.
