British ambassador celebrates inspirational female figures

Cairo – 24 September 2017: The official twitter page of the British ambassador in Egypt, John Cassen, shared an image of UK special envoy for gender equality Joanna Roper at the embassy ceremony aimed at shedding light on inspirational female figures in various fields.

Roper was appointed by the UK Foreign Secretary as the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s special envoy for gender equality in February 2017.

She arrived to Egypt to participate in the “Empowering Women for Strong Economies” program this month.

Casson came to Egypt in 2014 as the new British ambassador and gained his fame in the country because of the way he engages with Egyptians on social media. He always shows support for the Egyptian national team. Casson also comments on his official Facebook page about different events in Egypt.
