Joan Marie Larkin was born on September 22, 1958. Her stage name is Joan Jett. She is a true power house, being a singer, songwriter, composer, musician, record producer and occasional actress.
What she is best known for is when she was the front woman of her band Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, with the rock and roll anthem "I Love Rock 'n Roll", which was number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 from March 20 to May 1, 1982. Preceded success came with the Runaways, including the hit song "Cherry Bomb". Her other popular hits included "Bad Reputation", "Crimson and Clover", "Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)", "Light of Day", "I Hate Myself for Loving You" and "Dirty Deeds".
She is the original feminist icon in a male-dominated music scene, which led to her being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
