CAIRO – 14 September 2017: College is often referred to as the gateway to the adult world, where you will start gradually grasping how the world works before facing it on your own as an adult. But there is really nothing to worry about. et is leaving you with a few simple tips that might ease the transition from a senior high school student to a freshman in college.

Accept it: this is the first thing you have to do, especially if you did not end up in the college you were dreaming of because guess what? You are not alone. Even if you are in the college you always wanted, nothing is perfect. It does not really matter how good you were at high school. College is different. So whatever comes your way, accept it, and use it as your motivation to move forward.

Make friends: Legend has it that you either make enough friends in the first two weeks or you never do, which is both right and wrong in ways. It will be easier to get to know people during the first two weeks, depending on the fact that you all have at least one thing in common: you all just got here from high school. But do not rush things. It is okay, and you will probably get many more chances to befriend more people later. For now, in case you do not know what to talk about, remember that, unless they are serial killers, people like talking about their interests, so ask them about the type of music they like, which movie is their favorite, what do they love doing. Once you find something common between you two, you can go on and discuss it. Just wait and see. You will be amazed by the amount of astonishing things you learn and the remarkable people you meet.

Manage: in no time, you will experience so many things, so make the most of it. Organize your time, and know your priorities. Try not to lose focus of what is important, such as family time and studying, because having fun will seem like the only thing you should do, which is not.

Make some effort: this might be something you do not have in mind right now as you feel eager to explore the new world, but know that, from now on, the more effort you exert, the more you will reap the rewards, even if it did not seem so. Even if you spent some extra effort on something that did not go well, at least you gained experience, at least you learned to perform a task or learn to become more patient.

Most people talk about how they want to be rich, famous and loved, but only a few work hard to achieve it. You will realize that as you progress.

Chill: worrying does not solve problems. Keep that in mind along the way. If you stress over a problem, you are not helping fix it, but merely wasting some of the energy you could otherwise use in solving it. And if you cannot solve the problem, how would being stressed help anyway?

Make the most of it, and enjoy the experience to the fullest, because many, many people admit to college being the best years of their lives. Here is a chill seal.
