CAIRO – 7 September 2017: It is said that Michelangelo’s last words at the age of 87 were, “Ancora imparo,” a Latin phrase which translates to “I am still learning.” Even if there are doubts about the attribution to the genius artist, there is definitely something to learn from that phrase; it is never too late to learn, change or develop.

What do you spend your free time doing? You might rush to answer “what free time, I’m busy all day”. Well… are you? Have you considered

how much time you spend on the internet, social media

, your phone, watching television, and being stuck in traffic? If you cut down a bit on some of these activities, or even adjusted and monitored them, you would find a lot of spare time on your hand. In that time, you could do something to nurture your life, career and personality, such as:

Taking online courses: through websites such as Udemy which ranks as the 404 most used website worldwide on

Alexa

’s global websites rank.

Coursera

which ranks as the 652 or

edX

which ranks as the 1,128, as well.

All three of these websites offer verified courses from celebrated universities such as Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Duke and Yale, in all professions and majors from Business, Marketing, History, Law, Economics and Engineering to Music, Language Philosophy, Arts and so much more.

General knowledge websites: such as

Quora

which ranks as the 115 most used website in the world and is generally a Q&A website in all fields relying on users’ experience. Or

Wiki How

which ranks as the 187,where you can search for articles on how to do literally anything you want from

decorating a bedroom

to

making fruit sushi

!

Listening: you could ask your friends if they can teach you something they know or know places that could teach you more about whichever hobby you like: soccer, painting, dancing or anything else.

But most importantly you will learn only if you want to: having these courses and methods of learning at the tip of your finger does not matter if you are not eager to learn. You can do anything if you are determined enough and the more effort you spend the more experience and wisdom you gain.
