World’s First Self-Cooling Sunbed to Launch in Dubai

CAIRO – 5 September 2017: Dubai in the summer is one of the hottest places on earth. People try to avoid it in summer vacations because temperatures there are extremely high.

Jay Ventham, a British holiday maker, could not handle the heat of Dubai. “I was on holiday trying to chill out in 36 degrees – which is not easy! When I sat down on the blisteringly hot sunbed, I got burned so badly that I was left with rashes and sores on the underside of my legs. That is when I started thinking that there must be a better way,” said Ventham

Hence, he started looking for materials capable of keeping people cool. He found a gel-lined mattress and dreamt up his design for a range of outdoor-wear.

He adds that “the gel is positioned in the upper layers, thus giving an instant cooling effect when laid upon. It reacts when in contact with the body, absorbing body heat and dissipating it back out into the air, giving a pleasant, cooling feeling and relieving discomfort from overheating. It can reduce a person’s core body temperature by up to two degrees.”

People now will be able to enjoy their summer without any fear of the heat because of the KoulsDown collection that includes the world’s first self-cooling sunbed.

KoulsDown collection will be exhibited for the first time in the Middle East at The Leisure Show Dubai 2017, which will be taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), from September 18 until September 20.
