CAIRO – 5 September 2017: In 2012, the UN General Assembly declared September 5 to be the annual celebration of The International Day of Charity. The International Day of Charity was created to enhance and increase social responsibility; thus, this day is important to raise awareness and provide a platform for charity events.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of the event that is considered very important as it allows people to give a helping hand to those who need it.
The United Nations pushes all member states to contribute to charity efforts and to raise awareness about charity.
People can get involved by donating to charity or volunteering in one of the charitable groups.
