Old irrigation method – ahl masr
ALEXANDRIA, Egypt - 30 August 2017 : People found home and abundance near the Nile River. This is how past generations formed a society after all. They all shared the same source of water.
Trying to adjust the land to their own needs, people learned to farm. Although no special power generators were available, they carved their own effective tools that helped them inhabit the space.
A woman bringing water up from the Nile River to her piece of land manually as shown in the photo. This photo is few decades old. Other easier and more effective methods are used now in irrigation. Wonder what would ever pay for such hard work done with absolute satisfaction, to bring a broad smile to ladies nowadays!
