CAIRO - 23 August 2017: Sahara Survival School to be holding an event under the name “Survival Skills for Kids” on Sept. 9 in Wadi Degla, a natural reserve in Cairo's Maadi, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to teach kids survival skills in the wilderness.
The event is aimed for kids aged 5-14, where up to two attendants can accompany the child.

Sahara Survival School has been operating since 2013, and its founder founder, Ahmed Salem, has taught hundreds of participants survival skills in the wildreness, including surviving in mountains and the Sahara Desert.

“Sahara Survival School is a non-profit organization, aiming at teaching people how to cope with various difficult scenarios. The school teaches people so through its simulation techniques, where the participants get involved in being put under different scenareos that may happen in the wildreness. They are then trained to deal with these sitiuations effectively,” Ahmed Salem told Egypt Today.

The group now conatins more than 12,000 members from all around Egypt who, through the group, can communicate and assist one another regarding survival skills.
An event held on Saturday in Wadi Degla by Sahara Survival School called “Rescue for Survival” aimed to teach attendants the basic rescuing skills in the wildreness in case of emergencies.
“The event was to simulate the idea of searching for lost people in the dersert — and one of the most important skills that everyone should learn is the art of signaling, how to make a clear signal in the desert in order to be easily found by rescuers,” Salem added.
