According to Harper's Bazaar, the chairman of Disney consumer products and interactive media “We asked some of the most accomplished female photographers to help tell the stories of inspiring women and girls from around the world—and the results are incredible. We can’t wait for kids everywhere to see how powerful dreams can be.”
One of the photographers is the Jordanian Banan Alawneh. She is a creative director and photographer. What she did for the campaign (Dream Big Princess) is so inspiring, she photographed five little girls from the Queen Rania Family and Child Center.
Jordanian Banan Alawneh said to Harper’s Bazaar “When I was approached to be part of the #DreamBigPrincess initiative I thought of all the young girls who are underprivileged but had so much potential. The Queen Rania Family and Child Center, which was established under The Jordan River Foundation, gives them support through community programs and specialized facilities. I was inspired by the community center, which offers holistic services that aim to help children and strengthen families across Jordan, kids enroll in these activities to stimulate and express their feelings through art.”
Disney will donate $1 to the United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up campaign from August 16 to October 16 every time one of the images is shared on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #DreamBigPrincess. Disney’s Goal to raise $1 million for the foundation.
