CAIRO – 18 August 2017: Middle Easterners have always had a thing for fashion and dressing up, many express themselves through their own personal style. The public likes to imitate the starlets that watch on the screen.
Here are some middle eastern singers that have become fashion icons to the public:
Nancy Ajram: Ajram, the Lebanese singer, was born in May 1983. Her career boosted in 2003, and in 2007 when she sold over 2 million records ranking 3rd best-selling female artist in Lebanon's history. According to her website, she was described on the Oprah Winfrey Show as one of the most influential personalities of the Middle East.
Sherine Abdel-Wahab: Abdel-Wahab, the Egyptian singer, was born on October 8, 1980. She began her music career in 2000. She is now a judge on the reality TV show the voice. She has won many awards and one of them is ‘Murex Do’r 2017.’
Nawal el Zoghbi: The Lebanese pop singer was born on June 29, 1972. She became a professional singer in 1992. She won the Arabic Music Award, and the Murex D'Or.
Samira Said: The Moroccan singer was born on January 10, 1958. She is widely known for her strong voice and astonishing fashion. She began her career at the age of 9. She released more than 50 albums. She won many awards such as BBC International Awards, World Music Awards.
Myriam Fares: The Lebanese singer was born on May 3, 1983. She released five albums. She is a fashion icon to many young girls in the Middle East.
Ruby: Rania Hassan, known as Ruby was born on born October 8, 1981. She is one of the successful Egyptian singers. She began her career as a model then released her first music video in 2003. Currently, she has been missing from the music scene, until she collaborated with Coca-Cola in creating a new song for Egypt.
